According to Article 15 of the Charter of the University of Macau, the University Assembly shall have the following powers and functions:
I. to receive the annual reports of UM and the Rector
II. to discuss matters on the agenda presented by UM
III. to advise on the general directions and development plans of UM
IV. to advise on overall academic plans
V. to promote fund-raising activities for the development of UM
VI. to promote activities that will enhance UM’s reputation in the community
